A huge welcome back to you and your family! We hope you had a lovely and relaxing summer and that everyone is ready for a fantastic year of learning during 2018.
456 ‘Sui Nei Cieli’
This is translated from Italian, meaning ‘up in the clouds’. Over the next few weeks, one of our projects will be to ensure children build relationships, make new friends and support their sense of belonging to their 2018 456 SNC learning community.
Communication in 2018
Working as an LC means your child is lucky enough to have four main teachers (Kristy, Dani, Andrew and Jennifer). This means we will have a team email address that we ask you to use for correspondence wherever possible. One teacher will then ensure your enquiry is answered within 24 hours. Also, 3 Way Conferences will again be managed by your child’s Administration Teacher – once we have updated emails, we will email you so you know who this will be. And of course, for general ‘day-to-day chats’, please feel free to talk to any of us. Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Also, don’t forget to check our updated blog for latest news and upcoming events – please bookmark this link – https://sncbeps.wordpress.com
We will endeavour to make our blog our ‘communication portal’ with frequent posts from teachers detailing the learning that occurs. We are also hoping to have a student-led blog as well.
Please return the general permission note ASAP as this provides us with your latest email address, as well as permission for students to go on walking excursions, access the internet at school, etc. Sport at Allard park starts this Friday so students will need this note to attend. Also, a reminder that swimming permission forms were sent home last year – please ensure you have sent this back. Swimming starts next Thursday (8/2).
Open ‘House’- this Thursday 1/2/18
This Thursday afternoon (1st February) we will holding an Open LC afternoon – you are most welcome! The Learning Community will be open from 3:30 until 6. The teaching team will be available to meet you, have a chat, and discuss anything you would like to mention. We have taught many of your children before, which is exciting for us! For those new faces (teachers, children and parents) we will send out more information about the new SNC team shortly.
We look forward to getting to know you and your family as part of our learning community,
Team 456 SNC
Kristy, Dani, Jennifer and Andrew
