This year the 456 SNC teaching team consists of Andrew (team leader), Julia, Ebony, Kat (Term 1) and Katie B (Term 2+). We are also lucky to have Ulli as education support in the first part of the week. And a big thanks to the students who represented us ~ via the medium of minifigures!
Hi everyone! My career now spans 20 years in education; teaching in schools from Tasmania to Saudi Arabia, London to Footscray, Westgarth to BEPS – ‘and…loving it’. I cannot believe that I have been at our fabulous school since 2010! This year I also continue my leadership role at BEPS as a ‘Learning Specialist’. I love creating new and innovative opportunities for our BEPS kids to thrive. And as well as time with my family, I also love cooking, reading, film, music, writing, piano – and anything vaguely theatrical! This year I am working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I look forward to another fantastic year with you and your family.
Hi SNC community! It’s Julia here. I have been given the privilege of being a part of SNC this year. You might have seen me around the BEPS as I’ve taught in most LCs. When writing this it was the first time I thought about how long I’ve been teaching. This will be my 6th year of teaching, which makes me wonder where all that time has gone! I’ve always had an interest in teaching and working with children. Occupations I’ve had in the past were a lifeguard, swim teacher and nanny. My main hobbies growing up were dancing, swimming, playing the saxophone and violin. Swimming became a real passion of mine and took me all over Australia and overseas to compete in national and international competitions. I love to pass on my message of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to help with all aspects of life. Yoga and Mediation is always something I like to integrate into our busy schedule at school. If I’m not at school you’ll either find me back in my hometown of Benalla or at the beach enjoying the surf. Anyway, I’m very much looking forward to the year ahead and can’t wait get to know SNC community. Ciao!
Hello all! I cannot wait to be part of the SNC community this term. This year will be my first year as a ‘real’ teacher, after completing the final year of my studies in Terra Verde last year – where I feel hopelessly in love with BEPS and all that it encompasses. Education is a passion of mine – with experience working in many different contexts and environments – including working for the Ronald McDonald House Charity here in Melbourne and experiencing education in Nepal and Chile. As an educator, I am passionate about sustainability, mindfulness and social justice. Things I enjoy include yoga, camping, good coffee (essential), growing my very own indoor jungle (very much indoor plant obsessed) and attempting to translate that green thumb into my vegetable garden (less successful!). I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you in Term 1 to complete some great learning.
Hey SNC! I’m really looking forward to being part of SNC in 2021. I will be in the LC on Wednesdays and Fridays. Some of you may already know me from back in Prep, or seen me around the school. I’m excited about getting to know you ALL! A little about me, I have 3 kiddies at home – Isla 4 and my twins Lenny and Harper who are 2. When I’m not chasing after them, I enjoy being outside, exercising, gardening, cooking, and heading down the beach. I’m excited for the year ahead!
Hi everyone! I will be in SNC Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays offering education support. This will be my sixth year at BEPS, my fourth in SNC. I would like to welcome all of the new students to our LC and welcome back the familiars! I also would like to say how much I’m looking forward to anther great year. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. By the way, I’m a passionate reader, lover of all animals, carer of our environment, collector of found objects, consumer of great food, mother, performer, swimmer and walker (to name a few interests!). See you during 2021!
Katie B (returning in Term 2)
Hello SNC! I’m so excited to be part of the team. I have been at BEPS since 2011 but have been on maternity leave for the past year. I have two gorgeous girls at home who will start childcare and kinder in March and I look forward to joining you all in Term 2. Between changing nappies, cuddling kids and playing peek-a-boo I like to cook, read and spend weekends in the country or by the beach. I look forward to hearing all about your adventures and getting to learn more about you.
